Richard (Dick) Swee

Mr Swee has over 30 years founding,
developing, and managing Engineering, Support and
Manufacturing organizations for companies producing carrier
grade (NEBS compliant) telephony, networking, and high
performance computers with 99.999% reliability.
For the last 20 years he has consistently held positions of
Senior Vice President, Vice President or Director. He is known
for developing and delivering quality products, within budget,
and in short time frames.
Most recently, at Atcomm, he developed a converged voice,
data, and video switch for the high-volume CPE market. It
included H.323, MGCP, SIP, call control, WAN and LAN switching
in a single all-in-one VCR-sized box. As the senior V.P. of an
entire operation in Manchester, NH, his responsibilities
included Manufacturing, Customer Support and Training, as well
as all of Engineering.
Prior to Atcomm he was most recently at Summa Four/Cisco,
Tylink/Sync Research, Ungermann Bass and Kendall Square
Research.
At Summa Four he developed 2 new generations of high-density
carrier-grade voice switch products that were sold to over 40
countries world-wide to RBOC's , CLEC's and PTT's. More than
5000 switches were installed. The switch technology included:
computer telephony, voice, data, SS7, ISDN , worldwide country
variants (tone plans, SS7, ISDN), IP-based voice VoIP, MGCP,
SIP, MEGACOP and H.248 (nee H.GCP). Over 20 patent
applications resulted from these new product developments. Mr
Swee played a key role in the sale of Summa Four to Cisco.
At Tylink he was responsible for the design and development of
all their WAN, Frame-Relay and Circuit Management products.
Customers included Wells-Fargo Bank. Mr Swee was key to the
sale of Tylink to Synch Research.
At Ungermann Bass, he managed the development of a 24-port
stackable ethernet switch and concentrator and a 16-port ATM
switch.
At Kendall Square Research his organization was responsible
for the design and development of hardware, software, and
diagnostics for a UNIX scalable massively parallel
supercomputer. The product was installed at over 50 sites
around the world.
Mr Swee holds a B.S from Northwestern and an M.S.C.S from the
University of Illinois.
Mr. Swee has been a speaker at tradeshows in Europe, Asia, and
the US.
